Content Management System (CMS)

A  content management system or short CMS is a web application. A website built on a CMS software is a dynamic website. Such a website is driven by a database. The content  (data) is pulled from the database on demand.The content is separated from the template, in the administration section - so it is possible for non web designers / programmers to edit there content without coding or programming skills. Even new pages can be created on the fly.

Iin comparison to edit a static HTML based website you need some HTML and CSS knowledge or at least need to buy an advanced web design program like Dreamweaver..

You want to change your template later? No problem it can be all done at once, globally for all pages. You want to have complete new Look (template) No problem a new template can be assigned to your entire website with all your existing content embedded, taking on the new styling.

One of the other  reasons to choose an CMS over a static website are having attractivefeatures, such as image- and video galleries, calendars, social networkig applications, shopping carts and much more at your fingertips.

So there are many strong points to consider a content mangement system (CMS) .  In fact for most of our clients today a CMS is the best choice to represent themselves or their business, to keep their content fresh at minimum costs. After some training by Visionary Design our clients will be able to edit, maintain, and add new content themselves. But even if they choose to hire a web designer for all editing and maintenance - with a CMS - no matter who does the work - cost are much less for a CMS than for a static website.
